The low enriched uranium (LEU) fuel of Nigeria’s miniature neutron source reactor (MNSR) conversion project, undertaken by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), launched the shipment in China Institute of Atomic Energy on Oct 15.

It’s a practice to cash in China’s promise in actively driving the development of the low enriched uranium at miniature neutron source reactor in Nigeria, a new measure to guarantee global nuclear safety.

The LEU-MNSR project is a critical part of the China-US Joint Statement negotiated at the 4th Nuclear Security Summit and a solemn commitment made by the Chinese government to the world.

CNNC accomplished the prototype LEU project in 2016 and succeeded in completing the Ghana LEU-MNSR project, which won wide acclaim at home and abroad and formed the “Ghana model” recognized by the IAEA.
