China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) signed several partnership deals with ROSATOM, during the China International Import Expo, on Nov 6.

The agreements, which were witnessed by Zhang Kejian, vice-minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of China Atomic Energy Authority; Yu Jianfeng, chairman of CNNC, and Alexey Likhachev, general director of ROSATOM, mark a new phase for China-Russia cooperation in the nuclear energy sector.

In June, CNNC signed framework contracts with ROSATOM for equipment supplies and service procurement for units 7 and 8 of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant and China’s demonstration fast reactor, witnessed by the leaders of both countries.

This time, the partnership deal will take the framework further, bringing the partnership agreement into its execution phase.
