Fourth Tianwan unit starts commercial operations
Unit 4 of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC)’s Tianwan nuclear power plant started commercial operations after completing a demonstration period at nominal capacity for 100 hours, on Dec 22, marking that the largest China-Russia cooperative nuclear program –– Tianwan Phase II –– started operations as scheduled.
At present, CNNC operates 21 nuclear power reactors, with the power generated by those units expected to exceed 110 TWh by the end of this year.
