CNNC President Gu Jun met with Khalid A. Al-Falih, Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, on April 25.

The two sides discussed cooperation in nuclear power generation, utilizing uranium and thorium, and the construction of high temperature reactors.

During the meeting, the minister said that Saudi Arabia was willing to pursue a partnership with CNNC.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources will strengthen exchanges with CNNC, he added.

Gu played up CNNC’s ability to promote China-Saudi Arabia cooperation in nuclear power, saying that CNNC has a complete nuclear industrial chain and can provide long-term technical services.

China has a complete manufacturing industrial chain and CNNC is experienced in independent research and development, he added.

Gu also invited the minister to visit CNNC’s HPR1000 nuclear power stations and other nuclear facilities to learn more about the company’s industrial chain.
