Fuqing nuclear plant's main pump in place
Trucks carrying a total of 150 boxes containing components for the main pump successfully arrived at Unit 5 of the Fuqing nuclear plant operated by China National Nuclear Corporation – or CNNC – on Jan 5, 2019, according to officials.
The main pump is first-level nuclear equipment. It needs to be delivered to the site in the form of parts to be assembled, due to the complexity of its system and the specialty of its structure.
Staff members of the East China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the National Nuclear Safety Administration conducted a security inspection of the components. They completed a total of 309 pages of original inspection records and took 1,061 inspection photos.
To date, all the main equipment for Unit 5 at Fuqing nuclear power has been put in place on the nuclear island, which marked the beginning of the installation work.
