Wang Shoujun, chairman of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), met with Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz in Jordan on June 28, and discussed cooperation in the field of nuclear energy between their respective countries.

Subsequently, Wang held talks with Khaled Toukan, chairman of Jordan Atomic Energy Commission, and signed a cooperation framework agreement to jointly push bilateral nuclear power projects.

The nuclear project is part of an important national strategy which the Jordanian government is putting its full weight behind, and I hope that both sides can work together to help Jordan diversify its energy mix, said Razzaz.

Wang expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s support on bilateral nuclear projects and promised that CNNC would use the full breadth of its experience working in the nuclear energy industry to accelerate the development of Jordan’s nuclear sector, and contribute to the development of the kingdom.
