CNNC has two bases for the manufacture of nuclear fuel elements, one in Yibin city, southwest China’s Sichuan province and the other in Baotou city, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Safe and reliable nuclear fuel elements and assemblies can be provided to nuclear power plants with pressurized-water reactors, heavy water reactors and high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, as well as to various research reactors. CNNC’s capability of manufacturing fuel elements for pressurized-water reactors ranks fifth globally. The nuclear fuel elements manufactured and supplied are reliable and stable within reactors, and have gained recognition from nuclear power customers. The pressurized-water reactor elements of models CF1, CF2 and CF3 have been significantly developed. It is expected that nuclear fuel elements can be industrialized domestically by 2017.
