Nuclear power giant signs for cooperation agreement with Sudan

China’s National Development and Reform Commission sent a delegation to Sudan, May 22-23, led by Nur Bekri, its deputy director, to meet with the head of the country’s Finance and Economic Planning Ministry, as the first inter-governmental energy cooperation meeting for the two offices.

Nur Bekri, who is also the head of China’s National Energy Administration, was accompanied by Sun Qin, chairman of the China National Nuclear Corp (CNNC), who signed two contracts with the deputy director of Sudan’s Water Resources and Power Ministry, which took the cooperation with Sudan to a higher stage.

Earlier, Sun spoke the director of the Water Resources and Power Ministry, where he explained that CNNC is willing to draw up a blueprint for nuclear power cooperation and development for the coming 10 years with Sudan to help it build its first 600,000 kilowatt nuclear power plant.
