Qian Zhimin chairs and addresses the 9th International Youth Nuclear Congress
The 9th International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC) got off to a good start in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on July 25, with Qian Zhimin, president of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and chairman for the event, addressing the opening ceremony.
This is the first time the most influential international meeting in the nuclear energy field has come to China. Under the theme of “nuclear energy helping for better life”, Qian talked with youth representatives in the field from around the globe, outlining a blueprint of nuclear energy’s future.
The one-week event was organized by the International Youth Nuclear Council with help from the Chinese Nuclear Society. During the session about 500 experts from 32 countries as well as some international organizations will discuss current issues in nuclear energy such as fuel cycles, safety, fusion, technology applications, public participation, talent cultivation and experience sharing.
