The first concrete date (FCD) of conventional island construction is seven days ahead of schedule for the Fuqing No 6 nuclear power unit of China National Nuclear Corporation’s (CNNC) HPR1000 nuclear power project.

It signals that preparation work has been completed for the conventional island of the No 6 nuclear power unit, and the main part of the project has now begun.

The Fuqing No 6 nuclear power plant is being built to a strict project deadline.

The area for the concrete pouring is in the No 1 raft foundation of the FCD baseboard. This raft foundation is the biggest and the most important one in FCD raft foundations.

There is a FCD central structure laid out in the raft foundations. It takes about 48 hours to complete pouring concrete into a space of around 4,860 cubic meters.
