As the first demonstrative project of HPR1000, the ring crane equipment of the Power Unit 5 of the Fuqing nuclear power plant has passed the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC)’s factory acceptance test. 

The approval will effectively guarantee the need of advanced delivery of the ring crane for the Fuqing nuclear power plant, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of dome lifting and the later fixation of the nuclear island’s equipment. 

Much emphasis has been placed on the ring crane as it is the crucial equipment in the construction of the nuclear island as well as of the nuclear power plant. It is responsible for the lifting and fixing of the vapor generator, the reactor pressure vessel (RPV), voltage stabilizer, reactor internals and other light-loading devices. Besides, it is one of the eleven major devices that the CNNC has focused on.
