The internal structural construction of reactor buildings in Unit 5 of the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), the first HPR 1000 demonstration project, was completed on May 3. It’s favorable to later dome lifting and fixing alongside core equipment installation in Unit 5.

The charging pumps of Fuqing Unit 5 also passed factory acceptance test jointly conducted by the China Nuclear Engineering Company and the Fuqing Nuclear Power Company, two subsidiaries of CNNC.

The pumps were transported to the Fuqing NPP site nearly three months earlier than scheduled, marking a solid foundation for the construction of the first HPR 1000 reactor project.
