CZEC negotiates with Ugandan energy delegation

China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation (CZEC), an economic entity directly affiliated to CNNC, and a delegation from Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, have recently signed a memorandum of understanding on nuclear energy cooperation.
The two sides expressed their mutual interests and hopes to collaborate further, and will have discourses to agree partnerships in the future.
During the visit, the Ugandan delegation toured China’s National Nuclear Safety Administration, the China Institute of Atomic Energy, and the construction site of the HPR 1000 demonstration project at Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant.
The delegates exchanged thoughts with CNNC staff on sectors such as the nuclear regulatory system, HPR 1000 nuclear technologies, experimental reactors, and personnel training.
Uganda has been interested in the construction of the HPR 1000 project and is looking forward to its successful completion, according to the head of the Ugandan delegation.
Uganda has worked on promoting nuclear power projects, and hopes to accelerate communication and collaboration with CNNC in the nuclear industry.
