Fuqing Unit 5, the first HPR 1000 demonstration project owned by China National Nuclear Corporation, successfully introduced its first steam generator to be placed on its 16.5-meter portal frame on Nov 10, marking the beginning of the installation of Fuqing Unit 5’s main equipment. 

The steam generator is one of the key equipment in the reactor coolant system. It connects the primary loop system with the secondary loop system. The HPR 1000 ZH-65 steam generator was designed by the Nuclear Power Institute of China, and manufactured by Dongfang Electric Corporation. It meets the standard of the international third generation of pressurized water reactor nuclear power steam generators.
