China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) attended the 12th International Geological Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Feb 4, exhibiting its innovative achievements including the uranium mineral geological prospecting, and the CO2 plus O2 third-generation in-situ leaching uranium technology.

CNNC put forward China’s project on nuclear energy full industrial chain, gaining great attention from other attendees. He Zixing, vice-president of CNNC, received a commemorative award from Khalid Al-Falih, minister of the Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia.

In 2017, CNNC and Saudi Geological Survey cooperated in carrying out the evaluation project of uranium and thorium resources, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in whole industrial chain between the two parties. It demonstrates the success of CNNC extending partnerships with countries along the Belt and Road.

Khalid Al-Falih highly praised the achievements made by China and Saudi Arabia and conveyed his appreciation towards nearly 100 personnel from CNNC to conduct field work in Saudi Arabia.
