China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) delivered its self-developed electron linear accelerator for non-destructive testing to Turkey on May 14, 2018.

This was the first time for CNNC to export an accelerator, indicating that the China’s electron linear accelerator technology has reached an advanced level across the world.

The 6MeV linear accelerator was researched and developed independently by China Institute of Atomic Energy, a subsidiary research institute of CNNC. With the function of energy regulation, it is a state-of-the-art product.

The electron accelerator, a key part of nuclear technology application, is the world’s most advanced irradiation facility. It is also the most complicated and core equipment of non-destructive testing system. Currently, only a few developed countries including US and Germany are able to produce accelerators for non-destructive testing.
