China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) launched a project to employ artificial intelligence (AI) in the nuclear technology industry on May 9.

According to CNNC, the project will help turn integration of AI and nuclear technology from a fantasy into a reality.

The goal of the project is to apply AI to the complete nuclear technology industrial chain, which includes uranium mining, fuel assembly production, manufacture of nuclear equipment, and design, construction, and operation of nuclear power plants, as well as nuclear environmental protection and nuclear power generation.
