On August 18th, the safety-grade digital control system (DCS) NicSys®8000N, developed by China Nuclear Control System (CNCS) of Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC), received the civil nuclear safety equipment design and production license from China's National Nuclear Safety Administration, signifying that CNCS has the ability and qualification for providing the entire process service of nuclear safety-grade DCS, from research and design to equipment supply. This achievement will further enhance nuclear instrumentation control, contributing to the advancement of the nuclear power industry.
With the certification of the NicSys®8000N platform, NPIC becomes China's first institution possessing independent intellectual property rights of the Nuclear Advanced Safety Platform of I&C (NASPIC) based on microprocessor technology, the NicSys®8000N platform based on FPGA technology, and the non-safety-grade DCS Longqi platform.
As the safeguard for the nuclear facility, the NicSys®8000N platform is developed by CNCS with over a decade of dedicated effort, possessing complete independent intellectual property rights. It features the FPGA technology which is widely employed in aerospace and other fields.
