Since 1992 when China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC) and Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) signed the nuclear fuel supply contract for the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant, the cooperation between the two parties has been constantly expanding. Through the successive signing of nuclear fuel supply contracts for Unit 2-4 of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant (C-2/C-3/C-4) and Unit 2 & 3 of Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (K-2/K-3), the total number of nuclear fuel assemblies exported to Pakistan exceeds 2,000 sets, which can effectively ensure local energy security, ease the pressure of power supply, and promote stable and healthy economic and social development of Pakistan and the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Furthermore, CNEIC has played a positive role in promoting the efficient operation of the global nuclear fuel supply chain and the healthy and stable development of the global nuclear industry.
