Shen Yanfeng, president of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), held a meeting with Mikhail Chudakov, deputy director-general and head of the Nuclear Energy Department at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in Beijing on August 26. They exchanged views and reached consensus on further deepening bilateral cooperation in the nuclear energy sector.

Shen said that the CNNC will strengthen its cooperation with the IAEA's Nuclear Energy Department, share its nuclear energy technologies and development experience with global counterparts, and make greater contributions to global nuclear energy development as well as energy green transition upon the 40th anniversary of its accession to the IAEA.

Chudakov said that the visit to the construction site of the CNNC's Linglong One, the world's first commercial small modular reactor, and its nuclear technology research & production apparatuses had given him a deep impression about the fast development of China's nuclear energy. He spoke highly of tremendous achievements made by the CNNC in sci-tech innovation and relevant industrial development and called on the two sides to work together for the prosperity and development of global nuclear energy cause.
