The two units will utilize China's self-developed third-generation nuclear technology, Hualong One. Each unit has a rated capacity of 1.21 million kilowatts and a design lifespan of 60 years. Once completed, the two units are expected to annually generate 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 16 million tons each year. This will play a significant role in optimizing the energy structure and ensuring a stable power supply.

The Hualong One technology can meet the highest global safety requirements and the latest technological standards, a major achievement in China's nuclear power innovation. It serves as an important pathway toward achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals and marks China's nuclear technology entering the global stage.

The year 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the construction start of the world's first Hualong One demonstration project. Seven Hualong One units are currently operating well. This signifies that China's nuclear power industry has established a fully independent capability across the entire industrial chain, from R&D and design to equipment manufacturing and operation, setting a new benchmark for global nuclear power development.
