On November 17 local time, CNNC CIRC signed a deal in Lima with a Peruvian partner to establish an agricultural gamma irradiation station. This project marks the debut of Chinese irradiation technology in Latin America.
Under the agreement, CIRC will provide professional gamma irradiation devices along with a comprehensive cobalt-60 radiation solution.
The facility aims to enhance the export quality and market competitiveness of Peru's specialty agricultural products. By aligning with the IAEA's "Atoms for Food" initiative, this project will contribute to food security and sustainable agricultural development.
