On December 30, Unit 7 of CNNC's Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant successfully completed hot functional test, marking a key milestone and laying a solid foundation for subsequent nuclear fuel loading and grid connection.

Hot functional test is conducted prior to fuel loading to comprehensively verify the reliability of the nuclear and conventional island systems under hot operating conditions, ensuring all performance parameters meet design requirements.

As a major clean energy base, Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant has seen its units 1-6 safely generate more than 500 billion kWh of electricity, equivalent to the annual power consumption of 136 million households, and have reduced carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 400 million tons. Looking ahead, Unit 7 will advance fuel loading and grid connection as scheduled, with commercial operation planned for 2026, while construction of Unit 8 is under steady progress in accordance with the plan.
