First global cooperation initiative for nuclear technology applications unveiled

On April 21, the Third International Conference on Nuclear Technology Applications opened in Beijing. During the event, the Initiative to Jointly Build an Open, Inclusive, Universally Beneficial and Win-Win International Industrial Ecosystem for Nuclear Technology Applications was unveiled, marking the first global cooperation initiative in this field. More than 400 representatives from over 20 countries attended the conference.

Initiated by the China Isotope and Radiation Association, the Initiative calls on international organizations, industry associations, enterprises, and research institutions worldwide to work together under the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity. Guided by the principles of peaceful use, openness, inclusiveness, and mutual benefit, it aims to foster a new model of international industrial cooperation based on mutual respect, fairness, and collaborative development. It also seeks to explore new pathways for global cooperation, jointly maintain a stable, open, safe, and reliable industry ecosystem, strengthen experience sharing and alignment of development approaches, and address common challenges, providing innovative solutions for global sustainable development and economic recovery, and extending the benefits of nuclear technology to more countries and regions.

To promote high-quality, scaled, and international development of the sector, the conference also introduced China's policies on nuclear technology applications, showcased the key achievements of the country's nuclear industry, and released an integrated smart nuclear medicine solution by China Isotope & Radiation Corporation (CIRC), a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). In addition, an international communication campaign, themed "Nuclear for a Better Home: Nuclear Technology Applications Empower a Better Life", was launched. Participants delivered keynote speeches and shared the latest global developments and achievements in the field.

The three-day conference served as a high-level platform for international exchange, cooperation, and exhibition in the field of nuclear technology application.
