On April 22, Nuclear Industry China 2026 (NIC 2026) opened in Beijing. Themed "Infinite Nuclear Power, Shared Future", China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) presented its full eight-sector industrial system and major innovation achievements in the core exhibition area, highlighting the strength of China's nuclear industry and its commitment to open cooperation.
The CNNC exhibition featured three sections — Corporate Overview, Industry System, and Interactive Science, offering a comprehensive view of its latest corporate culture, development goals, and integrated layout across eight sectors: nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear energy, R&D and engineering technology, engineering construction, nuclear technology applications, nuclear environmental protection, digitalization, and industrial collaboration.
From Hualong One to Linglong One, and from integrated fast reactor systems to HL-3 ("artificial sun"), a range of flagship technologies were showcased through models and interactive displays. A number of cutting-edge, people-oriented technologies also drew strong public interest, including radiation-monitoring smartwatches, inspection robots, carbon-13 breath analyzers, and domestically developed smart gamma knife systems.
A one-meter-tall science robot in the interactive zone became a highlight, helping bridge advanced nuclear technology and public understanding. It explained topics from uranium exploration and nuclear power operation principles to the working mechanism of the "artificial sun" and medical applications of nuclear technology. Experts, media representatives, and visitors from China and abroad actively engaged in these sessions, fostering greater public awareness and bringing nuclear technology closer to everyday life and vividly reflecting the vision of "nuclear technology for a better life".
As the longest-running, largest, most influential and highest-level exhibition in China's nuclear industry, NIC has been held 17 times since the 1980s and is now among the world's leading nuclear industry events. At this year's exhibition, CNNC showcased its latest achievements in a comprehensive and multi-dimensional way, reaffirming its commitment to working with global partners to build a safe, stable, and efficient nuclear industry chain, advance high-quality nuclear energy development, and contribute to global carbon reduction goals. A series of public engagement activities and launch events will also be held during the exhibition.
