Nigeria Converts its Research Reactor from HEU to LEU Fuel
The reactor was gradually shut down in accordance with the technological regulations before being disconnected from the national grid. The unit was commissioned on 21 December 1973 and had since generated 264.9 TWh of electricity. In all its years of operation it has not experienced a single serious incident, Rosatom said.

Schedule for Hanhikivi 1 project revised
Finland's Fennovoima now expects to receive the construction licence for its planned Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant in 2021. The company had originally expected to start construction of the plant this year. Start of commercial operation of the Russian-supplied plant has been put back four years to 2028.

TVO agrees loan for Olkiluoto safety upgrades
Finnish utility Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) has signed a ten-year EUR65 million (USD74 million) loan agreement with the Nordic Investment Bank to finance safety system upgrades at units 1 and 2 of its Olkiluoto nuclear power plant.
