When Sun Qin, chairman of China’s National Nuclear Corp (CNNC), met with a French delegation led by Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, France’s ambassador to China, at the headquarter of CNNC in Beijing on Nov 27, he described the successful cooperation China has had with France in the last several years.

Sun spoke about CNNC’s cooperation with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, Electricite de France, and the French nuclear group Areva and said he is interested in greater exchanges and promoting the global nuclear industry for Sino-French development.

Gourdault-Montagne described CNNC as an important partner of France’s nuclear energy sector and that the cooperation has been successful and increased mutual trust and that France is keen on boosting the unique connection with China through CNNC’s participation in restructuring his country's nuclear industry.

The two also spoke about CNNC’s projects with Areva and its NP restructuring and reached a consensus in several areas.
