Fuqing No 6’s first Steel lining module hoisted into position

A HPR1000 demonstration project, Fuqing No 6, had its first steel lining module hoisted into position on May 25, laying a good foundation for island construction and installation of the nuclear reactor.
The module is 7.5 meters high and weighs 180 tons. Throughout the project all parties have cooperated on planning, conducting expert reviews, technical disclosure, simulation and testing.
Work on the project is proceeding smoothly.
