CNNC’s digital reactor project passes national check

The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) announced that its project “the performance optimization of nuclear reactor’s key materials, and the software research and development for high performance and numerical simulation” passed the national examination.

Led and undertaken by the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), the project is one subject of the China’s National 863 Program. The subject was properly organized and conducted; its research was smoothly developed and harvesting a big breakthrough within the field, according to some experts.

The implementation of the project has provided much technological support for the jointly research and development of digital reactors from China and the UK, and it also has presented the technological power of the CNNC in combining sectors of nuclear engineering and super-computing.
