Recently, the advanced post-treatment process and thermal experiment project researched by the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) attached to China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), passed an evaluation of scientific and technical achievements organized by China’s State Administration of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND).

The project simplifies the post-treatment process and upgrades the efficiency of the processing systems currently in place. Upon application, the new process will efficiently reduce the amount of radioactive waste produced and advance the level of China’s nuclear safety.

It’s reported that the advanced post-treatment process and thermal experiment project provides break-through core techniques for co-decontamination separation and uranium purification processes. It houses several independent intellectual property rights and ten invention patents.

The evaluation committee highly praised the innovation and advancement of the project, and expressed the view that with much complexity and convincing revolution, the project’s integrated tech has reached an internationally impressive level.
