CNNC produces first batch of AP1000 nuclear refueling assemblies

China’s first production line for AP1000 nuclear fuel elements operated by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) recently produced 64 sets of refueling assemblies in the first furnace. The indicators of the assemblies met the technical requirements and will guarantee the safe and stable running of Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant.
The achievement demonstrates that CNNC has fully realized China’s national strategy of accomplishing the localization of AP1000 fuel assemblies.
