Pressurizer at Tianwan Unit 6 installed
The pressurizer for Tianwan Unit 6 has been successfully installed, according to a statement by CNNC on May 17.
A pressurizer is a key component of a nuclear reactor’s primary loop system. It helps maintain pressure when the nuclear reactor is operating.
The device was designed by the Nuclear Power Institute of China, a subsidiary of CNNC located in Sichuan province. The pressurizer was painted black and white to imitate the giant panda, for which Sichuan is famous.
