CNNC agrees to build units at Xudapu nuclear power plant with ROSATOM

China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) recently signed a contract with Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) to build the No 3 and No 4 power units of Xudabu nuclear power plant in Northeast China’s Liaoning province.
CNNC Chairman Yu Jianfeng and ROSATOM General Director Alexey Likhachev signed the contract in Moscow on June 5, in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The new contract forms part of a bigger picture of increasing cooperation planned between China and Russia in the energy sector over the coming decades.
