CNNC unit ensures safe operation of nuclear power plants

China Nuclear Industry Maintenance Co Ltd -- a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation and the biggest nuclear industry maintenance company in the Chinese mainland -- began work at the Changjiang nuclear power plant in Hainan province on Feb 19, the seventh overhaul undertaken by the company in 2020, according to CNNC reports.
Officials said that since before the Spring Festival, China Nuclear Industry Maintenance has completed over 7,400 maintenance jobs for several nuclear power plants.
These included the Haiyang nuclear power plant in Shandong province, the Yangjiang nuclear power plant in Guangdong province and the Fuqing nuclear power plant in Fujian province.
Officials said the company has ensured the safe operation of nuclear power plants, while making its comprehensive preparations for novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control.
To date, more than 4,000 staff members have returned to work and no infection has been found, according to officials.
