HPR1000 is one of the most widely accepted Gen-Ⅲ nuclear power technologies in current market, based on CNNC’s experience of nuclear power research, engineering, construction, operation and management over the past 30 years. With a designed lifetime of 60 years, HPR1000 adopts 177-fuel-assembly reactor core and double shell containment technology, and combines the high-efficiency of active system with the high-reliability of passive system, which meets the highest international safety standards.

The Karachi nuclear power project will supply stable, green and low-carbon energy to Pakistan, which constitutes a significant part in Pakistan’s effort to optimize its energy mix, and in global effort to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and address climate change. With a package of localization, the project has improved local capabilities of equipment manufacturing and project management, and created more than 10,000 direct jobs for the local area.
