CNNC won the contract for assembling the vacuum chamber modules for the ITER
CNPE of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has won the contract for assembling the vacuum chamber modules for the Tokamak of ITER. It involves assembling the vacuum chamber, cryostat thermal shield, and toroidal field coils, followed by the complete hoisting into the Tokamak pit. The scheduled installation period for the nine sectors is 35 months.
Putting together the vacuum chamber modules is a critical task for the ITER's most important equipment at present and holds great importance for the entire project. With the successful bid for this task, CNPE has now become the sole contractor for the main installation of the ITER project.
