Celebrating 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Ties between China and Brazil
This year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Brazil. Nuclear energy has always been a major sector for bilateral cooperation.
Early in 2015, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Brazilian leading nuclear power company Eletronuclear over bilateral cooperation on the comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy in Brazil.
In the same year, the CNNC organized a symposium on the integrated solutions for nuclear energy utilization in Brazil and held talks with Brazilian academic circle and industry insiders of the nuclear energy over further cooperation.
The CNNC brought with its comprehensive industrial chains and was the only Chinese nuclear energy company to hold a thematic parallel forum at the 11th International Nuclear Atlantic Conference (INAC) in the Brazilian capital city Rio de Janeiro from May 6 to 10. It held several bilateral meetings with relevant Brazilian nuclear energy companies and institutes and engaged in in-depth exchanges with them over potential cooperation in the exploration and utilization of nuclear power, uranium resources and nuclear technologies.
Looking ahead, the CNNC will be committed to the Brazilian market, deepen bilateral cooperation on nuclear energy, and further promote the development of China-Brazil relations with more solid outcomes.
