• CNNC and WANO initiate fifth center in Shanghai


    The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) advocated to establish a fifth World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) center in Shanghai. The initiative received unanimous votes at a council conference held in Paris on June 22, and will take effect after being approved at the WANO Plenary Session in October.

    Fuqing Unit 5, the first global reactor demo project of CNNC’s HPR 1000, completed dome lifting on May 25, 15 days ahead of schedule, and entered the equipment installation phase.
